His casts of consumerism\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s cast-offs often bear one-word invitations to think deeply about the shallowness of present-day culture. So perhaps it was inevitable that he would eventually appropriate Arthur Stace\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s single-word sermon, \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcEternity\u00e2\u20ac\u2122.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.meganix.net\/pavement\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/13k-nc-P1020439-MonorailCan.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1335\" alt=\"13k-nc-P1020439-MonorailCan\" src=\"http:\/\/www.meganix.net\/pavement\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/13k-nc-P1020439-MonorailCan.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.meganix.net\/pavement\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/13k-nc-P1020439-MonorailCan.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.meganix.net\/pavement\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/13k-nc-P1020439-MonorailCan-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to my loyal band of spotters, I was able to find and photograph several of Will\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcEternity\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 drink cans this weekend. They were stuck to the stanchions of Sydney\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s now defunct monorail, a train that went from nowhere to nowhere and connected to nothing. The monorail closed down at the end of June after uglifying the streets of Sydney for 25 years. Most people would say good riddance but Will had apparently found it a great space for his mini-installations. As a farewell gesture he hit it hard with his works last week, and by the time I got down to Pitt Street many of them had been souvenired while others had been damaged, presumably in an attempt to remove them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.meganix.net\/pavement\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/13k-nc-P1020418-BrokenCan.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1336\" alt=\"13k-nc-P1020418-BrokenCan\" src=\"http:\/\/www.meganix.net\/pavement\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/13k-nc-P1020418-BrokenCan.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.meganix.net\/pavement\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/13k-nc-P1020418-BrokenCan.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.meganix.net\/pavement\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/13k-nc-P1020418-BrokenCan-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.willcoles.com\/index.html\">Will Coles<\/a> is an artist who straddles both the gallery and the street scene.
